[This is almost an exact version of what I've posted on 14 Jan 08. Basically, it applies very much with the current context I'm in now.]
In the next half an hour, I'll have to get ready to leave the house and make my way to the airport. Father will be fetching me this time round, as I have to get the duffel bag to the airport by myself.
In the next hour, I'll be at the airport reporting, collecting my passport as well as the boarding pass.
In the next two hours, hopefully the reporting is done, then I'll go have breakfast with my parents.
In the next two and a half hours, my friends and I will probably be celebrating Alex's birthday, one day earlier.
In another few hours, I'll be on board the airplane and making my way to Chattrapathi Shivaji International Airport, in Mumbai.
In less than 24 hours, I'll be at the camp preparing for the days to come.
All this is finally happening, and happening so fast they are! Oh man. This time round it's 26 freaking days! More than 3 weeks. So I'm definitely gonna miss home so much more. I think I'll miss my family the most, as well as my room. The comfortable bed PLUS the booster that I would always hug to sleep every night. Well, I will have a bed this time, but it sure won't be as comfy as home's bed, or even camp's bed! And then of course, I will miss my friends here as well. Not being able to talk very often is really gonna make me quite miserable. NO INTERNET! ARGHZ! Phone bill hopefully will be more manageable this time. Didn't apply for auto-roaming like I've previously done so coz it's just way too costly. Intend to get a local SIM card, which will then make communication with home much cheaper. Like one minute of call costs 7 rupees and one sms costs 4 rupees. Probably the only thing that is much better than NZ!
If given a choice, I'd still wish that this trip will only be 16 days long, instead of the horrendous 26 days! But hai, useless saying all this now. Hopefully there would be internet kiosk over there, so that I can update on the my happenings in India. I guess this is it. Going overseas for a different motive AGAIN. I'm not hoping for anything now, but just wish that I'll be able to have a safe training experience, and come back home alive and sound, ASAP as well!
One thing for sure, I'll try to be positive! It's really damn sian, to the ultimate max! But since everyone has been telling me to be positive, I shall listen. It's the only way to get through this shit now right?! Yeah!
Will be back on the 1st of December! Till then. :)

1 More Day! THE LAST DAY!!
Ok. There's actually less than 12 hours left, since it's already 7pm now! Sian. Around 4+am, I will have to leave my house and make my way to the airport. Crap! I want more time! :(
I have no mood to say much now. Have got much other stuff to settle still. Will 'copy and paste' a previous post later, which pretty much applies with my current situation now. Lol. Later then.

America Decides!
Doesn't this video just makes you want to get out of that house and vote right now?! Too bad I'm not in America, or else I'd have voted for Obama! But it does not matter now. Coz America has decided, and has made the rightest decision ever! Obama is now president of the United States! WOOTS! It's an election that will go down into the history books and be spoken for many generations to come! Finally, with Bush Administration no more, America will go back to the right tracks, save itself and save the world! Yes We Can! I sure hope they can! :)

2 More Days
I shouldn't have begun this countdown. It has no form of happiness or anything to be looking forward to; like counting down to doom. Lol. RAH! In less than 36 hours, I'll on the plane to that miserable place. Then life will never be the same again for the 26 days to come. Hai. :(
At least I did something worthwhile today. I went to so many places, and spent a whooping 10 bucks on transport alone today! And there's no taxi involve kae. 10 bucks solely on buses and trains. Lol. Mother's so gonna kill me if she realises this. Haha. Met up with a friend whom I haven't seen in the longest period of time, Wei Qi. I was suppose to meet up with him yesterday, and it was his birthday as well. Haha. Too bad, TPO always have the final say on meet ups. So postponed till today. Well, I would like to talk about the journey I made today.
Since it was his birthday yesterday, thought I should get a cake for him. So I took bus 171 from home all the way to town, intending to go to Marina Square to get a Chocz cake. When I finally reached Marina Square, I was shocked to find that the location where Chocz used to be had been revamped into a Starbucks cafeteria. RAH! Luckily I know that Esplanade has another Chocz outlet. So I went there and thankfully, the outlet still exist. Got a slice of chocolate moose cake, for a freaking price which I shan't say. Haha. Once done, made my way to Suntec Convention Centre to take bus 36 to Katong area for my haircut. A great deal of walking from Esplanade to Suntec alright?! Lol.
The perfect storm has to arrive just in time when my haircut was done! That torrential rain simply made my shoes, socks and pants totally wet while I tried to complete that 150m distance from the salon to the bus stop! Ultimate man! It was then about time to meet wq. So I took bus 966 to Eunos MRT, then a train ride down to Pasir Ris MRT. Met him there, he said he wanted to borrow some books for his boring 24H duty on Wed, so we went to the library at white sands. Didn't know that shopping centre has such a huge library. I have always wanted to borrow a book for this India trip. But I hesitated coz I know I won't be able to return on time, since I will be away for 26 days and yet the standard period for borrowing is only 21 days. Considering then that if I was to get one and be prepared to pay the fines, 8 days of fines would cost $1.20! Well, that's if the fine costs 15 cents a day. Haha. The funny part was coz wq insist that the fine costs only 10 cents a day, being unsure, both of us decided to consult the information counter. The lady was then really nice to let me know that there's actually such a thing called extending the period for borrowing. Price? Only 50 cents! LOL! To think I was actually contemplating returning the book late and paying the fine. This simple process not only helped me saved 70 cents, but also allows me to borrow the book for 6 weeks! Woots! Double win man! Lol.
Alright. So after the library, as I told wq that I was craving for Changi Village's famous nasi lemak, both of us made another arduously long journey to that place. Took bus 109 and approximately half an hour to get there. Got to the hawker centre and sure enough, the nasi lemak stall has a very long queue! But it was worth the wait lah, coz it's really one of the best around! My english ain't good, so I shall not bother to describe. Haha. When we were done, made our way to changi beach, coz you know me, I wanted to get as close as possible to the beautiful planes that were taking off from Changi Airport. Settled down at a bench, wq had his cake, while I sat there enjoying the great feeling of the planes taking off right above my head. LOL. There was this 747, queen of all planes, probably less than 1000 feet directly above me!! Imagine how shiok I was when I saw it zooming past me, gaining altitude rapidly and flying into the starry night. If only I had my camera there! Damn!
Well, it was a great time catching up with wq. Talked damn lot of stuff, mostly TPO related, and condemning it most of the time as well. Lol. A pity he had to return back camp early for some dumb water parade. Oh wells. For the going home part, I took bus 89 back to Pasir Ris MRT, train ride to Newton MRT, and then bus 170 before finally reaching home! Haha. So you can see now how I spent 10 bucks just on transport alone! Alright then. Tomorrow will be my last day of civilisation left! I will seriously cherish it and maximise every single second of it! Till then.

3 More Days
NUMB. That's what Alex said, maybe that's how I am feeling right now. I went back camp yesterday, only to have nothing to do at all today! See, this is how TPO waste away precious time. Just because upstair didn't want to allow us to take pre-flight off, they insist on us coming back. When we are back, thinking that there must be something important for us, imagine our great dismay when we realised that there was really nothing planned at all. Simply dumb man! That's TPO alright. Hai.
I have no idea what else to say. The following part isn't anything to be happy about either. Alas, that work/travel thing is once again an uncertainty. Arghz. It's like some roller coaster ride can, making you high for awhile, then plunging you low for another significant period of time. The problem this time is the agency isn't sure if the sponsor can guarantee me a job for the period I've requested. Coz the sponsor only provided employment for May to July. However, July should be a rather critical month for me, as I'll have to do all the pre-uni stuff and maybe attend orientation camps as well. Hence not a suitable period to be doing the program. So I asked for March to June. The agency's reply was that they never had students working during this period before. They'll have to check with the sponsor and get back to me. Thus, it's now waiting for another phone call of hope! Of even bigger hope this time! :S
Like I've said many times, I really do want this thing. In fact, I had more or less forgotten about this, thinking that the agency will never call back. And so it's a miracle man, when I received that euphoric call on Wednesday night, telling me that I am eligible to apply for the program! Haha. I was just totally mad with joy when they called me! Now, I really wish to be able to have this joy once again! This isn't being greedy, coz not having this call means I won't be going for the program in the end! But I really want to go! Arghz! I want this, totally, absolutely, greatly, madly want this!! I just wish that they will deliver that piece of good news to me once again!!
Oh wells. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I hope that the phone call of MORE hope will come AGAIN! Hopefully they'll call within the next 2 days. At least give me an answer and let me have a settled mind before I leave for India. Hope. Faith. It's all about this now. Shall keep all my fingers crossed and wish my dream will become a reality! Please please let this come true! :) Alright, till then.

4 More Days
Yeah. The title says it all. 4 more days of civilisation left, before I embark on that trip to India. Hai. The thought itself makes me feel damn sick already! How great it would be if this trip is much shorter than the 26 days planned. Recalling what happened a few months back, it's quite funny how I got the news that I will be heading to that dreaded place for a long 26 days. Initially, I was told that I'll be going for 10 days only! Can you believe it? Just imagine how happy I was to learn that! So how on Earth did 10 short days magically transform into 26 draggy days?! Well, there was actually a long process. A few days after receiving that '10-day' news, I then heard that my battery will be going for 16 days instead. Well, still acceptable lah. It's an additional 6 more days only! At least better than NZ, which was 20 days the other time! Still ok, that's what I thought. But I was sooooo wrong!
One fine day, my dearest upstair suddenly just drop the biggest bomb ever on me. "Hey Chuan Yuan, I think the whole CP team will be going up for full frame. 26 days." When I saw that sms, my heart just sank totally. Didn't really know how to react. Didn't want to react! I thought I was crucified instantly on that spot. Totally stunned! Lost all emotions. Absolutely sianified! Hai. The next few days, I was constantly hoping that the plan will be scraped, that I will just go for 16 days only. But of course, the uncertainty just become a reality when I saw my name in the nominal roll that states the '26-days' people. Lost all mood, seriously.
Well, of course I've come to accept that fact now, coz I must be crazy if I still don't. That's why there's only 4 more days of proper civilisation left for me. Oh wells. Gotta cherish this precious remaining days. Shall spend more time with family, friends, and comp! Lol. Ok. '3 more days' will be coming up soon! Arghz!

5 More Days
Today is Saturday, 01/11/2008. Exactly one month from now, 01/12/2008, I will be back from what I think is the greatest ordeal in my entire TPO career thus far. Oh my. This is really bad. Haven't even start yet, thinking about the end already. Lol. Well, in exactly 5 days time, I will be flying off to India for training. The thought of it makes me utterly sian. ARGHZ! I guess I have said this many times already, but I must mention it once again. So here goes.
It's really a different feeling as compared to the NZ trip. Maybe coz for the previous trip, I was still quite an inexperienced soldier. So the fear of 'don't know what to expect' keeps bothering and hence all that funny emotions in me. This time round, it's just literally sian, probably because it's nothing as NEW anymore, that I will just have to go through what I've done in NZ, all over again. The worst part is the fact that I will be away longer this time. 26 days!! NZ was 20 days, and I was badly homesick already. Now 26 days, in a place which conditions in no way can be compared to NZ. Sian to the max can?!
What fears me most is really the lost of means of communication with the outside world. Like totally submerging yourself in the wilds, having no trace of modern civilisation around you at all! This really sucks can?! No internet!! That's my worst fear. I'm not ashame to admit that I am just very reliant on this piece of information technology. Come on, tell me you can survive without the internet for 1 month! I'm sure there will definitely be withdrawal symptoms hitting on you soon before you would even realise it yourself. Seriously, no MSN, no facebook, no youtube, no forums to read, etc. The thought of it will drive me crazy can?! Well, of course I will still have my handphone. But then the exorbitant prices that these phone companies charge just for a simple SMS, or talk with your love ones, will inevitable scare you so much such that the phone will just be as rarely used. My phone bill when I was in NZ was 111 bucks alright. My friend, who has been using it more often to communicate with his girlfriend, has a phone bill of 700 bucks to contend with! Yeah! Get my point now?!
Hai. This looming trip to India, really just drains my soul away. Feel extremely lethargic right now, like no mood for anything! Sian! Sian! Sian! 5 more days and I will be flying off already. 5 more days with the internet. 5 more days to spend much time with my family and friends. Arghz! I wish this will be over real soon! :(
