Don't Want!

I don't want to book in! ARGHZ. Freaking sianified by you-know-what! Damn it! The BTT which I booked on Mar 14, I cannot take it now, coz of freaking standbye! Freak! And the next test date will be in May already. Freak! Totally pissed off man. ARGHZ. And the thought of what is to come, drills, shoot, and so on. ARGHZ. Damn sian. Zzz...

Numb

Alright. Back from China. And I'm seriously numb with all those PhDs hitting on me! Haven't fully recovered from the Post NZ depression, and yet now I have to endure a post China depression. Oh man. The feeling of nostalgia in me seriously sucks now man. Zzz...

I'm going to blabber just as much as I possibly can right now. Yup, I just returned. Like yesterday, all by myself (dun wanna be)! For a moment I was quite sure that I would miss my plane back home can! Yesterday is just ultimate suay alright. Everyone thought that we had indeed set off rather early for the airport. Coz from where I was, Quan Gang (somewhere in Quan Zhou), to Xiamen, via the highway, would take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Who would actually expect that the highway would be sealed on that day!! Initially when we drove to the first entrance and found out that it was sealed, my cousin (the one driving) thought it must be too foggy. So we moved on to the next nearest entrance, which was like 20 minutes away, only to realise that it was sealed as well. Upon asking the police there, they explained that some really big and important person is coming down. So the whole highway is actually sealed up just for those VIPs! How ridiculous man. Hence, very unfortunately, we have to take the very much longer route down to Xiamen, and just nice when on the bridge to the airport, there has to be a very bad traffic jam. It was already like 1115H by then (my flight was 1225H!), so you can just imagine how nervous I was. Thankfully the traffic improved slightly in awhile and I managed to reach the airport at 1140H. Mad rush it was I tell you, and the way my cousin had to speed, overtake and have so many breath-taking close brushes with other vehicles. Oh wells, in the end, the departure time of the flight got delayed coz of some immigration papers being unsettled. Took off only at 1250H. How stupid man! -_-

So much had happened over the past one week. And I must say so much drama as well, particularly pertaining to my father. Hai. For one thing, thanks to his temper, on Thursday, he actually quarrelled with his 3rd brother. Lame right?! Like you take all the trouble, travel thousands of miles away from home, just to visit your very dear siblings! And instead of enjoying every single moment of it, you have to create such unhappy happenings. Totally stupid, in my opinion. Of course, father was unhappy about something, which led to his temperament, and caused my 3rd uncle (father's 3rd brother) to flare up as well. It was the last day of CNY, Yuan Xiao mind you, and it's suppose to be a happy reunion day on that day. In the end, things have to turn so sour, with all faces looking so black. Hai. That feeling seriously was horrible to bear with. Father understands that it's his mistake, coz he started all of it in the very beginning. Thus went back down to 3rd uncle's house and apologise, and yup. The matter was resolved.

Then came Friday. A very special day for my father, coz it's his Chinese birthday. And how nice of my big uncle to want to celebrate a birthday for his younger brother. I thought that was really sweet man. To think somemore that father, coz of the row he had the previous night, told big uncle that he didn't want his birthday celebrated. It immediately caused so much disappointment among so many people, especially towards big uncle. And then my cousins were like telling father how big uncle had spent so much time planning for the special day, and sending messages insisting that everyone, and seriously every single member of the family, has to be back at home for the occasion. Took some convincing and my father gave in. So yup, the special day proceeded as planned.

It was indeed very happening. So many people were around, like 50+ altogether. You see, the age difference between my elder uncle and father is like 20 years. Hence my cousins there are like 10+ years older than me as well, and they all have kids already too. Some of these kids, my nephews and nieces, are older than me even! And most are already in their teens. Which is why the huge generation difference, plus the great number of people around. But of course, it was full of joy all the same. Lots of eating and drinking, talking and laughing. And then my cousins bought fireworks, not sparklers or what kae. It's those real fireworks that gives brilliant displays in the skies. Yup, they are banned here, but not in China. People can play with them freely over there, so long as you have the cash to buy them! Ha. So there was like 8 boxes in total, and the displays were awesome! Kids (I guess I'm still one of them as well) were especially enjoying themselves with the sparklers. Then there was singing sessions too, and yup. Everyone was just having a great time!

Until some bastard came. Details of which I don't wish to explain too much. But yup, it's my 2nd uncle's useless son. Made my father real furious, broke a tea cup, and the pieces gashed his left hand real deep! Lots of blood lost. A rather serious injury in my opinion. But father didn't care, became real emo, got too angry, cried. Talked something about the family name, felt remourseful that he couldn't bring his mother, my grandma, back home in time. [Grandma left 11 years ago! ):] Lots more grieving and shouting, everyone in the house became very moody, some even cried. I tried to calm my father down, while attending to his injury. Hai. It's suppose to be a happy day for him, but in the end, things have to turn so sour again. And I thought the whole situation, not that I don't understand lah, but think father didn't have to make it so drama afterall. It's like hai. Everyone was so happy, all became so sad! Oh wells. It had to end up this way, I can't do much also, but to just let father be the way he wants to be lo.

So yep. I actually felt rather bad that the whole event had to end up in an "un-tuned" note. Seriously man, if things must keep happening this way, I would not want my father to return anymore. No way should I let him worry about those people at the expense of his own health. It may make him upset, but sorry man, I'm just being way too over-protective. Of course, I'm not old enough to do so now, but it all depends on how long later before we return to China again. Afterall, the last time father went was 3 years ago, while the last time I went, was 8 years ago. So yup. We'll just see how.

Speaking about that 8 years, oh my goodness man! So much has changed in this short 8 years. I seriously think their rate of development is like at some god-lite speed alright! It's like there's even shopping centres, modern architectural buildings and highways now, at my relatives home. What used to take 3 hours to get from Xiamen to home now only requires half the time. And they are still improving greatly. As for the people, 8 years have seen them all growing up, and new faces added into the family as well. My cousins got married and even have kids that are 6+ years old now. While those that were 6+ years old 8 years ago are now in their teens. But all still as cute as ever. Haha. Speaking to them, and playing with them just brings quite much joy. It's really a lot of fun, which leaves me with some emptiness when I was returning home. Coz I really wonder when it's the next time I'd be going again. Maybe by then, they would all have grown so big, the picture would have changed too much. Oh wells, let's just hope it wouldn't be 8 years later again lo!

At the end of the day, this tinge of emptiness will remain in me for quite some time. I know it will go, but for now, the PhD feeling will just overwhelm me so much I just feel like dying! Haha. Kidding. Oh wells. Hope it will go soon. I seriously must learn how to upload photos man! Shall end this long post here. Will update more in the near future. Yup.

Cleared To Take Off...

I've just barely returned home, for like only 14 days exactly, yet I'd be flying off again real soon. Haha. This time, it's a holiday trip, nothing related to the ah mee! Yup. I'll be heading down to China, Xiamen, Huian! Will be there to visit my distant relatives, and of course, celebrate chinese new year with them. I guess it will be quite an interesting experience, especially since the last time I saw them was 8 long years ago. All the kids would have grown up so much by now, just like me myself transforming from a P6 kid to the current about-to-be 20 year-old young adult. Lol.

And so, rather sadly, there would be lesser updates on my blog for the time being. Hopefully there would be internet connection over there as well, then I will be able to blog more. But it's really a mad rush for me now, so I don't have much time to fully express what I have in mind. Nevermind. Another time then. I'll be back real soon, on the 23rd of Feb. So be right back! Seeya! Till then.

1 Month Later...

Wow. It has been 1 full month since I last stepped into my dear bunk! So today is the day, whereby I 'finally' have to return back to camp. Time seriously passes by damn fast, like nobody's business at all. And obviously, sianzilla has been attacking non-stop! It's really just too hard to fathom all that has to be done upon returning. Ultimate saikang man! Worst is the stuff that's to come in the following months; standby, more duties, and 2nd year ippt, soc! Zzzzzzz...

Then there's NZ. Hai. It's seriously weird, but I actually miss the place so much. I'm just strange isn't it? Like how much I dreaded going in the first place, and then how I hoped I could be back home so badly when I was in there, and now how much I wish to be back there again. Lol. But yar, for the past few days, I just cannot stop thinking about the times I had over there. I simply had to keep replaying the photos and videos I've taken, probably like for the hundredth time already. All the good times and bad times there, the memories of it all and the feelings surging through me, it's way too overwhelming man.

Yes. It's really a post-TW depression I tell you. So much so that I kinda went crazy and actually went to check out about air ticket prices, as well as planning a trip there once again. Haha. But then an SIA ticket from here to Auckland is way expensive man! One person would cost close to 2k! Horrid. Travel in pairs and the price drops by about half a thousand. Hence I was thinking that maybe we could travel to Sydney from home first, via the A380! An experience! Ha. And it's only 1.1k. After that, get a budget flight to somewhere in NZ from Sydney, which so far only Jetstar flies direct from Sydney to Christchurch. Hopefully more routes would appear and there would be one that allows us to go from Sydney to Auckland direct. But whatever ways, we could still be at Christchurch, travel up north to Auckland, and go back down. In between we could explore places of interest as well. So probably stay in NZ for 10 days, then fly back to Sydney for another 10 days trip. This time exploring Sydney and probably Melbourne. Once done, return to Sydney for the A380 flight back to Singapore. Now how cool is that?

Ok I'm mad! Haiya! I'll just have to write out my personal experience in my own diary. Won't want to get into legal matters with you know what la! So yea, all I can say is I miss that place. And maybe for another meaningful experience, I guess I won't mind going to another country lo, even though if it's India. Haha. We'll see how. Till then.

Happy Chinese New Year

Sorry for the lag of update. Have been absolutely busy with CNY preps man. And finally, 大年初一(I'm using chinese on my blog for the first time, lol!) has arrived. So anyway, I'm currently listening to 再见 by 张震岳, and oh my, loads of fond memories come flushing through my head. Oh wells. Shan't say much. Will update soon.

HOME SWEET HOME!!!

I'm finally back! After 20 days in NZ, I AM FINALLY BACK HOME ONCE AGAIN! My goodness. Time really does fly real fast! But then again, it kinda felt real slow when I was actually out there. Lol.

I'm really really tired now. Jet lag! Like I spent 5 hours extra, which didn't really exist because of the time difference lo. So theoretically speaking, in accoradance with Singapore timing, I've actually woke up at 3am and did not sleep till now. Freaking tired, like going to be awake for more than 24 hours soon!

So much to say, but I'll say it another time. For now, it's to settle down and get ready for bed! Home seriously never felt this better! :)
